• Now China’s government has unveiled a controversial plan to achieve universal care that would both increase health-care funding and control prices. As this morning’s WSJ explains, the proposed plan would be quite a shift for China. The draft plan’s overall goal is to cover 90% of the population within two years and achieve universal care by 2020. It aims to return to non-profit national health care, an idea that was largely abandoned in the country 1980s. A ted video about development.

好久以来首次 1am 的时候是在喝热牛奶催眠，而不是喝咖啡提神。的确让我有些讶异，最近的昏天暗地才让我真正感受到传说中让人生不如死的美国 Econ PH.D. program。自己也难以想象，为何可以在一个星期内要用到 6 中不同的编程语言，用 c++ and ox programming 做 econometrics 的作业，用 stata scripting 做 industial organizaiton 的作业，用 matlab programming 做 open economy macroeconomics 的作业，用 elisp 配置工作环境，用 latex 做 presentation，用 vba 完成工作。终于明白了 live for coding 和 code for life 的区别，要特别感谢 Aquamacs 的全屏模式让人聚精会神和上蹿下跳的 Dow 指数给了实时追踪的乐子。于是乎整天需要变换思维方式，the whole life is driven by deadline, responsibility, meetings and parties。生活变成了片片零碎，始终想 back up a little，把所有片片粘起来，给我一个 panorama。Hard，isn’t it？也许觉得是 lost 的时候才是积累生命时间价值的最快时刻。
